Ideal Poses for Couples at a Wedding
So... your wedding day is just around the corner, and you are incredibly excited to enjoy every moment of the celebration. Everything you need and everything you have dreamed of for so long has now become a reality. And you have spent quite a bit of money hiring a professional photographer to capture every beautiful moment of you and your partner on your wedding day. The wedding dress was designed especially for you, perfectly matching the wedding shoes you had been hunting for months. You have booked your favorite makeup artist, and the wedding decorations will be absolutely magnificent. But wait, how do you get such beautiful photos? What moments or poses should you practice? Well, we know for sure that you were not born a model, so it is best to have a clear vision of what you should do to get beautiful wedding photos. And here are some suggestions for you.
1. Standing Poses
The best time for this pose is before the wedding ceremony and right after the first look, when it is just the two of you and the photographer. Be yourselves and embrace each other as if you were simply taking a casual walk (going out).
Standing side by side: many couples will naturally just stand next to each other for photos. Create a connection through physical contact — hold hands, put an arm around each other's back, or touch the cheek.
Facing each other: you and your partner can look at each other or at the camera, but remember to create plenty of points of connection, such as holding hands, placing one hand on the cheek, one hand on the waist, or kissing the forehead.
Bride/Groom standing behind: this is one of the sweetest poses we love because it is simple yet still playful.
2. Sitting Poses
While standing poses show the couple's energy, sitting poses portray the couple in a more relaxed way and are ideal for beach and outdoor weddings.
There are some popular sitting poses that we think may inspire you, such as the Shoulder Lean Pose (the bride relaxing on the groom's shoulder) and the Relaxed Look Pose (the groom placing a hand on one knee or stretching his legs forward and letting the bride lean in close to him).
3. Kissing Poses
It would be a big omission if we skipped this type of posing, wouldn't it? And we also know that you want more than just an ordinary kiss, so we have prepared some creative styles to offer.
The dip kiss is a wonderful wedding pose idea and one of our favorite poses. We find that leaning at a 90-degree angle to the camera creates the best angle for this fun kiss.
4. First Look Pose
First Look
This is probably the most important pose of this decade. Couples often choose a first look to capture the emotions and joy that come only once in a marriage. Plus, having a first look without guests means less anxiety and nervousness when walking down the aisle!
5. Posing with Decorations
It would be a shame not to take photos with all the beautiful decorations. For outdoor weddings, the right time to take photos is after the ceremony, when the floral arch is likely yours to pose with (with or without guests), along with the other floral decorations around you. If you are having an indoor wedding, you may have to wait a little longer until the guests have left, then head to the wedding stage and pose as much as you like. Of course, if your motto is “the more, the merrier”, don't hesitate to invite some guests to join you in those photos.
